Events and Activities
In addition to regular scheduled lessons and group classes, I host a number of activities and social events throughout the year. These opportunities give students and families a chance to socialize and offer support to each other, perform, and play together as well as giving me a chance to get to know students and their families outside of the scheduled lesson time.

Cocoa Concerts are informal monthly recitals featuring my private students, held on Fridays at 4:30 PM at a local church, or at my house. They are great fun, and build community as well as performing experience.
Twinkle in the Park sessions are summer outdoor group classes for students playing in the lower Suzuki book levels, which I hold at nearby Hyder Park, on summer evenings. Families bring picnics and blankets to sit on, while the kids play review tunes, work on technique, and play musical games with me.

Amigos Musicales is a one-week summer chamber music program for more advanced students of middle school and high school age from the Albuquerque area. Several local studio and school orchestra teachers collaborate with me in coaching student string quartets. The quartets rehearse daily for a week and put on a concert at the end.
In addition…I often host a few social events for my students during the year. In the past these have included a welcome-back ice cream social or the opportunity of attending Albuquerque Youth Symphony concerts with me.
